If you've been reading G4tv.com, you've probably heard about Scribblenauts, an incredibly unique game that most of our staff fell in love with at E3 2009. In short, the game tasks the player with solving puzzles by creating objects in the game world, which is done by entering the word for that object into the game. Why is it so impressive? The dictionary is massive.
Score another one for Scribblenauts. The ESRB description for the game is pure gold:
Rating summary: This is a puzzle game in which players navigate a series of traps, puzzles, and enemies to collect stars scattered throughout the colorful levels. Players have the ability to summon different objects by writing/typing in the word (e.g., bike, spaceship, lion) and watching it come to life. If multiple words are entered in a sequence, different whimsical scenarios can be triggered: a bicycle can be used to jump over a baby; a bulldozer can clear away a shark; and cabbage can be fed to dinosaurs. Players can elect to summon "cartoony" versions of bats, bombs, guns, and flamethrowers. These types of items can be used to destroy objects or even other summoned items (e.g., a club can be used to hit an animal; steak can be attached to a baby to attract lions; rockets can be lobbed at a man). These triggered animations are minimally depicted and are usually accompanied by popping, musical sound effects; bright, star-shaped flashes; or small puffs of smoke. If players wish to, they may type in the word vomit, which causes a beige-colored lump to appear on the screen.
I know that 3d realms has shut down.... but there is some hope for the duke nukem fans. I just found a video that was leaked by one of the developers on the project. It is almost done!

Just when i thought I was the biggist nerd on the planet, this surfaces.
I just found this on G4 :)
Big bombshell from the Game Developers Conference today: Nintendo has confirmed the next Zelda game! The tentative title is The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and the game will be available for the Nintendo DS before 2010.
At the Nintendo keynote, attendees were shown some footage from the game. Based on what was shown, the title will feature the cel-shaded style animation seen in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Other observations: In the clip, Link fights a battle with a crab-like creature (a Zora?) and controls a suit of armor or sidekick with the touchscreen. Link is also shown riding a train, dressed a little like a conductor. The train has a huge cannon. Rail-shooter? Looks like it!
No word on whether trains will figure prominently in the game, but it's not too much of a stretch to say it's a strong possibility. After all, "Spirit Tracks" could refer to train tracks, couldn't it? And boat travel was a huge part of Wind Waker, so train travel seems like an obvious (and awesome!) choice.
The game will reportedly be playable at this year's E3 and I predict a huge line if it's there. We'll be bringing more info and hopefully some screens and a trailer as soon as they become available, so keep watching this space!
This could be a work of fan fiction, but it seems a bit too well done for that. It appears to to a viral video for Half-Life.....
Its simply amazing!
There are many ways to say I love you... I believe this is one of the best ways :p
I was doing my daily rounds on the net today, and found something really cool IMO. Somebody seems to have re-textured screens from retro games. All i can say is wow. I cant seem to embed it so here is the link
